JoeyOS privacy policy
JoeyOS is a launcher app for Android. This page explains what it does with your information.
Google backup and sync
Google backup is optional. It’s off until you choose Back up with Google in Settings › Tools.
- What JoeyOS can access: only its own hidden area of your Google Drive (Google’s “app data” folder). JoeyOS can’t see, read or change any of your other Drive files.
- What it stores there: your JoeyOS setup: settings, dock and emulator choices, dock icons, custom wallpapers, downloaded guides and your place in them, saved video links, and your RetroAchievements username and API key, so a restored device is signed in.
- Where it goes: only to your own Google Drive, using your Google account. It isn’t sent to the developer of JoeyOS or to anyone else, and the developer can’t see it.
- Why: to back up your setup, restore it on any of your devices, and keep your devices in sync if you turn that on.
- Removing it: Delete my backups… in Settings › Tools removes everything JoeyOS stored in your Drive. You can also remove JoeyOS’s access at any time in your Google account under Security › Third-party apps with account access.
- RetroAchievements: if you sign in to RetroAchievements, JoeyOS sends your username and API key only to retroachievements.org, to show your achievements.
- Logs: JoeyOS keeps a log on your device (Internal storage › JoeyOS › joeyos.log) to help with problems. It stays on your device unless you choose to share it.
- No tracking: JoeyOS has no ads, analytics or tracking.
